We took a one-week hiatus, but were back this Thursday and welcoming Dr Ingrid Schultz who is visiting from Hillsboro, NC. Dr Schultz was instrumental in partnering with the Djolu Technical College in the Democratic Republic of Congo to establish the Congo Education Partners which helps fund technical and college level training for agricultural and environmental sciences, focusing on sustainable development and rainforest preservation. Our club has provided support to this project for many years. The Djolu Technical College is situated in a remote province in the heart of the Congo Basin rainforest. It's a fascinating project that supports the accreditation of the college, but also the recognition of the surrounding land into the Kokolopri Bonobo Nature Preserve.
The Big Gray Barn continues to be a local gathering place every Saturday from 8:30 to 11:00. If you can't find your heart’s desire at the Rotary Barn this week, come next week. Our amazing donation pick-up crew might have just added that very item.
We love new members. Join us any Thursday at 6 pm for dinner and a program. We're a diverse group interested in our community and the world, having fun, working together. We meet in our clubhouse at 66 Montgomery Road, BBH. You’ll be glad you did.
