Parking Lot Expansion

If you missed last Thursday’s meeting the “Big News” is:  Drum Roll Please!  Your Board of Directors voted to enlarge the parking lot.  No more parking on the road, hooray.  No more walking from your car to the clubhouse in the dark in January when everything is covered in ice.  Not only that, but our neighbors will be glad too.  Especially now that we are open every Saturday too.  Thank you, Mike Thompson for all your time and energy on this important project.

Yes, the Big, grey Rotary Barn is now open every Saturday between 8:30 - 11:00.  Come visit, come volunteer.  We have new furniture, collectibles, flea market items, tools and even boats every Saturday.  And some time this summer, hopefully, we’ll be able to safely park all our guests and volunteers off the road.

The other “Big News” is:  We are joining the 21st century and installing wi-fi in the clubhouse.  Hopefully we’ll be meeting there soon.  Wi-fi will allow us to have much more interesting programming and host more events.  Our renters will be happy too.  Thank you, Jim Herbold, for his time and energy on this project.

Jim Herbold is one of our newest members, so new that he has actually never been to a meeting at the Club House.  We’re hoping that changes soon, but this week we will meet via “Zoom” again and we will “meet”  Jim.  So, Join Us, Thursday and meet Jim Herbold one of our newest club members.

The Bath Rotary Club is holding a 4-way-5K Run/Walk on Saturday May 15th.  For more information click here.  The sign up link is here.  Should be fun.  And…..

The Rotary of Damariscotta-Newcastle invites you to visit our May 4, 2021 meeting (via Zoom), 0730-0830.  Our two clubs were not able to have their annual inter-club visits last year so it's time!  Our speaker that morning will be Cindy Wade, new President of Lincoln Health. As LincolnHealth has campuses in both Damariscotta and Boothbay, I'm sure you all will be interested in hearing Cindy talk about their current status as well as the future.  No meal served, no cost, BYOC/T/W.... bring your own coffee/tea/whatever.

Many of us received our recent vaccinations through LincolnHealth at the Boothbay Y so it will be a great opportunity for us to say "thank you."
Regards, Lorraine Faherty

Hope to see you on “Zoom” to meet Jim Herbold this Thursday and at the Rotary Barn this Saturday.
