Last Thursday we hosted Trae Holland, Executive Director, and Anna Marie Klein Christie, Director of International Development, of Safe Passage. Safe Passage provides education, health services, and other much needed support to families who live in extreme poverty around the Guatemala City dump. Trae provided a history of his personal involvement in Safe Passage and shared some of the remarkable stories of survival and perseverance from the individuals they help.
New Members
At this Monday’s Board meeting we voted to approve 3 new membership applications – Greg and Barbara Thornton, and Bill Louisignau. Their applications will now be posted for 14 days and then a final vote taken. We look forward to welcoming them into the Rotary Club of Boothbay Harbor!
Meet Irene Barber
This coming Thursday we will hear from Irene Barber, Horticultural Therapist at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Irene will talk about her work in horticultural therapy and how it enhances the lives of its participants.
Our Next Meeting
Hopefully the rain will stay away so we again plan to have social time on the clubhouse deck. Our program will begin as usual at 6:30 inside with everyone except the speakers masked. Please remember to wear your mask during the program!
