District 7780 Governor Dick Hall visited us last Thursday. He is in the process of visiting each of the 43 clubs in the district, reaching from southern Maine into New Hampshire. He is about halfway through this ambitious undertaking.
Dick shared his own story of becoming involved in Rotary and encouraged us in our efforts to support our community and beyond. This was also our first hybrid meeting with both in person and Zoom participants. Dick brought the necessary equipment and things seemed to go smoothly. We took notes on the setup and will work to build our own capability to hold hybrid meetings going forward as the need does not seem to be going away.
Meet Chase Harr
This coming Thursday we will welcome Chase Harr. Chase is in the process of climbing all 67 mountains in New England over 4000’ to raise money and awareness for ShelterBox, a cause we support at Rotary. ShelterBox provides shelter and emergency relief to individuals and families forced to flee their homes around the world.
With the weather looking better this week we will return to our combination indoor/outdoor meeting format. Appetizers and Turpentine out on the deck, where we will begin the meeting at 6:30 with 50/50 and Happy Dollars. We will then move inside, masked and socially distanced, to hear Chase’s presentation.
