A chilly week in January for sure! At least we have a Steller’s Eagle from Siberia in the area to keep us company. Accompanied of course by a healthy contingent of binocular toting birders. Has anybody managed to get a sighting?
The Board met this last Monday for its regular monthly meeting. In addition to the usual donation requests we heard updates from Vic Taylor on the affordable housing initiative and John Welsh on food security. We continue to try to push the housing initiative through the many difficulties these projects entail. We would certainly like to be part of a solution to such a pressing problem on the peninsula. Our food security initiatives continue to have an impact, and we’re working to increase coordination among the various community groups involved.
This Thursday we will meet via Zoom at 6:00 pm for some socializing and to see a video from Jennifer Jones, who is the first incoming woman President of Rotary International. It will be interesting to hear her perspective on Rotary and the importance of telling our story. Join us!
