"Eat Well, Play Well" District Grant 2019
The "Eat Well, Play Well" program is an ongoing partnership with our Boothbay Harbor YMCA and the Edgecomb Eddy School. We plant a school garden at the Edgecomb Eddy School and we purchased a playground swing for them. We also purchased six raised beds for the YMCA gardens and ten blueberry bushes.
We volunteer with "Fit Kids" at the YMCA planting the raised beds (when possible). We write cards to them and have two 'little libraries' with gardening books. The "Eat Well, Play Well" program stems from our visioning committee's work on food insecurity on our peninsula.
